Xp Multi Monitor numbering problem

Hello fellow multi headed ones,


I have a Matrox G500pcie dual head card and a Matrox M9140 quad head card.

In Windows xp, I see all 6 monitors but the g500 has monitors 1 and 3 while the quad head has monitors 2 4 5 and 6 attached according to XP's "Identify Monitor" function.

If I disable the M9140 quad head, then the two displays attached to the G500 are 1 and 2 like I want them to be, but if I re-enable the quad head and reboot ever, the is goes back to the sequence of 1 and 3 on the g500 and M9140 2 4 5 and 6.

Is this stuff in the registry or something?
